Job Description

Located in Lee’s Summit, MO Storm Technologies provides industrial control solutions nationwide. Our team works with many Fortune 500 and smaller niche clients to support their industrial control needs. While we provide solutions to companies in numerous sectors many of our customer turn to Storm Technologies for our deep industry knowledge of the industrial refrigeration. We are currently seeking a Controls Engineer to expand our team. Below is a list of duties typical of this position. Design, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade PLC & HMI solutions. Designs system layouts and I/O schematics and integrates control devices. Creates Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs. Will utilize Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley suite of tools or Inductive Automation’s Ignition to meet customer requirements. Experience with Python programming language a plus but not required. Creates a control sequence of operation document to ensure that the design meets customer requirements. Work with complex PLC programs, electrical control systems, and industrial refrigeration systems to meet customer requirements. Communicates with customers as well as other vendors to identify product specifications and electrical design specifications. Prepares schematics and specifications for control panel fabrication. Provides documentation and support to the field wiring team. Develops industrial graphics that allow the display of system status, alarms, etc. Ability to successfully balance multiple concurrent assignments is a must. Possible design of control panels. Assist in both internal and customer acceptance testing of subject equipment. Requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to be applied in design, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of material handling equipment. Performs on-site commissioning to implement and validate the system design. Aids in transitioning systems to customers for system go-live. 30% travel to customer locations is often required.
