Experience Required *

Must have a minimum of 8 years of combined manufacturing/maintenance/technician experience. 5+ years of ammonia refrigeration, wastewater treatment and boiler house operations, troubleshooting, and emergency protocol experience. Industrial HVAC operations and controls experience. Industrial wastewater experience strongly desired. Experience in food/beverage or other FDA/USDA regulated environment is desired. Experienced with CMMS and BMS systems.

 

Credentials/Certifications Required *

Certifications in areas of responsibility highly desired: (boiler house, ammonia systems, and emergency protocols, PSM, compressed air systems, HVAC, and facility management) Ability to read P&IDs, general layout drawings, equipment parts diagrams & other technical documentation. Ability to perform basic computer functions Excellent communication skills both up & down the chain of command. Proven leadership ability in a peer-to-peer environment. Able to read, write, and understand English. Passes all required drug screening, criminal background checks, and has reliable transportation.

Job Description

Takes a critical role in operating & maintaining infrastructure systems for new greenfield facility currently under construction with startup date in 2022. System responsibilities include wastewater treatment, ammonia refrigeration boiler, compressed air, water systems, HVAC, and electrical systems. This position acts as a “lead” technician for the utility & facility group – carrying additional responsibility & some managerial tasks that are not found at the normal technician level. Assures the highest level of safety and compliance with safety and environmental requirements of ammonia refrigeration systems. Assists in the organization/ execution of grounds & facility maintenance and improvement projects through coordination of facility technicians and contractor services. Assures that outside service providers comply with plant GMP and safety programs. Assists with the implementation of new equipment, technologies, and practices to improve infrastructure reliability, sustainability, and to reduce operational costs. Assists in evaluating the performance of outside service providers and contractors. Supports safety initiatives and behavioral-based safety observation programs. Availability on nights, weekends, and holidays to assist with project work and to respond to emergencies. Some irregular shift work may be periodically required. Ability to perform peer-to-peer training with technicians in infrastructure systems in a hands-on manner. Follows established company policies and those outlined in the Employee Handbook. Assures food safety standards with regards to GMPs and HACCP plan are being followed by self and fellow employees. Ability to work with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to capture preventative maintenance tasks, work orders, and work requests. Able to navigate and operate building management systems (BMS) to maintain and monitor plant utility systems.
