Job Description
Job Summary: Field Service Combustion Technician will be responsible for wiring, firing, and testing process burners in the field. The Technician will work on all combustion burner products used in the industrial process applications. The individual will be responsible for the startup of new combustion equipment, troubleshoot old existing equipment and recommend product upgrades and/or improvements. Location: Tulsa, OK (Relocation preferred, if not willing to relocate, must live near a large airport) Essential Duties: • Must have a clean record and possess a valid drivers license with a safe driving record. • Perform start-up of burners in field. • Must be able to trouble shoot, fire, and set combustion on all types of process heating equipment. • Must have working knowledge of burner management systems, transformers, transmitters and other burner controls. • Must be able to wire all controls, valves, switches and motors to burner control panel. • Must be able to rebuild and test control panels using Engineering wiring schematic and layout. • Must be able to use multimeter, signal generator and read electrical schematics. • Must be able to use basic hand tools. • Must be able to rebuild gas trains, control valves and regulators. • Must be able to determine valve trim, regulator size and spring, and all other parts and accessories needed to fire a burner. • Maintain condition of and inventory of all tools and monitors. • Must be able to use computer and Microsoft office, write service report and expense report. • Apply intellect, creativity, adaptability, judgment, and management skills to achieve required results. • Ensure duties and company projects are accomplished in an efficient and cost-effective manner. • Support peers and management with internal and external projects. • Assist other Access departments as required. • Adhere to company policies. • Other duties as assigned. Education: Years of Experience or Post-High School trade/vocational school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Six (4) years of combustion related experience required or trade/vocational school diploma in related field. Travel Requirements: 60-80% regional/domestic travel required. Physical Skill and Effort: Requires standing, climbing, bending, crawling, and lifting 50 pounds, working in confined and elevated areas. Working Conditions and Hazards: Some work in physical plant environment where plant orientation may be required, and safety precautions are required. May encounter some unpleasant working conditions of brief duration. Typical work will be performed outside in the sun or cold.
