Job Description
Position Description: Perform duties to ensure operational efficiency of plant and building equipment by scheduling routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment as needed. Primary Responsibilities: • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment per scheduled work orders. • Maintain all building and support equipment including but not limited to ammonia system, boilers and steam system, air compressors, paratherm boilers, fire system and fire suppression systems, building plumbing, building electrical, and HPHW system • Take daily equipment readings and regularly recording findings. • Ensure all PSM procedures are followed and documented. • Maintains the integrity of the ammonia refrigeration system • Performs boiler water treatment tests and makes chemical adjustments as needed • Ensure proper operating condition of all HV/AC units. • Work with contractors when needed on equipment repairs or upgrades • Maintains organization and cleanliness of the support rooms • Cleans, maintains and /or lubricates power plant and related auxiliary equipment (i.e., burners, pumps, filters) • Assists mechanics with various tasks as needed • Perform other duties as assigned Supervisory/Management Responsibilities: Not Applicable Requirements: • High school graduate or equivalent • Minimum 2 years of ammonia, boiler, air compressor and HV/AC maintenance experience (Ammonia Operator 1 preferred) • NH3 emergency response training certification • Working knowledgeable of PSM requirements • Must have ability to follow system drawings, manuals, and drawings • Must be able to perform job tasks while wearing full face respirator • Proficiently read, write, and speak English • Able to overtime and weekends as needed Physical Requirements: • Able to lift up to 50 pounds daily, over 50 pounds occasionally. • Able to walk, stand, bend & stoop repetitively, daily • Able to climb ladders & work in high areas inside & outside of the building as needed • Able to withstand varying temperatures
