Job Description:

SUMMARY:
Hourly Pay Rate depends on experience (DOE). Under the general supervision of the Refrigeration Manager performs a variety of routine or technical duties. Locates and diagnoses failures and does basic trouble shooting on refrigeration equipment. While keeping Safety, Quality, Service, and Profitability in mind at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Inspects all refrigeration equipment to ensure operation within specified range.
• Basic Knowledge of the elements of electricity.
• Daily inspection of high and low- pressure boilers.
• Use hand held temperature probe to conduct temperature checks at least once /shift/day to verify computer readings.
• Manually records reading from daily rounds, works on special projects as needed.
• Repairs/replace electrical components.
• Able to assist or perform PM’s using SOP’s, LOTO and M-Pulse printouts.
• Ensure all record keeping is correct and maintain accurate Refrigeration Maintenance records to include digital/electronic.
• Maintain good morale and positive attitudes among the hourly associates.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to maintain concentration while performing tasks over a period must have proven ability to facilitate change, and manage conflict.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally with others,
• Knowledge of all elements of electricity/refrigeration.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting and repairs hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, along with plant equipment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma or High School Equivalence Certificate preferred 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing facility environment. Maintenance refrigeration knowledge and experience and/or certifications in ammonia.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English. Ability to speak effectively with employees and management.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
• Ability to do basic math skills.

REASONING ABILITY:
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables and in situations where only limited experience exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

• Perform critical tasks such as Visual Acuity
• Near Visual Acuity, clarity of vision at approximately 20 inch or less
• Far Visual Acuity, clarity of vision at approximately 20 feet or more. This is not just the ability to see a person or object, but the ability to recognize features as well
• Peripheral Vision, observing an area that can be seen up and down or right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point
• May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. or more.
• Stand on concrete surfaces, and can be exposed to indoor manufacturing environment with exposure to noise from equipment.
• Climb stairs
• Must have the ability to work in a refrigerated environment of 35 to 45 degrees F.
• The job is fast paced and the ability to deal with stress is essential.
