Job Description

Overall Responsibility: Serve as Operator for ammonia refrigeration system. Also make minor repairs and upgrades. Maintain facility and equipment to meet production schedule, promoting teamwork and efficiency, ensuring the safe operation of equipment and grounds Key tasks and responsibilities: • Follow company foods sanitation, GMPs, HACCP procedures, Food Safety policies and Occupational Safety Policies. Support all company safety initiatives. Address Food Safety, Quality and Occupational Safety concerns with Operations, Quality and Maintenance Team members and contractors. • Serve as one of the designated Operators for Ammonia Refrigeration System and make minor repairs and upgrades as needed. • Effectively and efficiently troubleshoot, correct, and repair electrical equipment as needed. • Complete non-electrical maintenance tasks. • Direct and work with contractors to complete project and maintenance tasks. • Make process improvement proposals to minimize down time. • Conduct root cause analysis to eliminate repeat problems. • Maintain a clean work area and maintain thorough records. • Be available for call-in situations. • Willing to come in early and work over to complete critical assignments. • Be the single point of accountability for multiple key plant systems. Skills/Experience Required: Ÿ Ability to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures. Ÿ Willingness to participate and contribute to audits within the program and with Government agencies. Ÿ Knowledge of electricity and electronic principles. Ÿ Ability to understand and troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems. Ÿ Experience with Motor controls, VFDs (variable frequency drive). Ÿ Understanding of electrical schematics. Ÿ Must have basic pipe fitting abilities. Ÿ Ability to read and understand Piping and Instrumentation diagrams, Ÿ Willing to work at heights or within confined spaces, Ÿ Must be able to pass a pulmonary physical and a fit test. Ÿ Team-oriented personality. Ÿ Strong hunger to learn and teach others. Ÿ Ability to work in fast paced environment. Ÿ Well-developed sense of personal initiative and decision making. Ÿ Meet expectations of lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying necessary for the job. Ÿ Ability to make sound decisions in a high-stress situations, Ÿ Effective communication skills in reading, writing, and speaking. Ÿ Commitment to role modeling safe work practices.
